Live animals. Honey bee packages are live animals. Bees can sting, and stings may cause serious allergic reactions in some people. By purchasing, you accept responsibility for handling, transporting, and keeping bees safely.

After pickup. Packages are inspected and healthy at the time of pickup. Because colony success depends on installation, weather, forage, pests, and management, Back Forty Bees LLC cannot guarantee queen acceptance or colony survival once packages leave our possession. All Sales are Final.

Beekeeping information. The guidance on this site reflects how we keep bees in coastal Virginia. Practices vary, and what works in our apiary may not suit yours. For local support, we recommend Virginia Cooperative Extension, your regional VDACS apiary inspector, and your local beekeepers’ association, where experienced mentors are often the best resource a new beekeeper can have.
